For Patrick, journey and experience are the measures of a life well lived. Given the possibility of flying or driving a previously unknown route, the road wins out for the visual feast of new territory and the characters to be discovered along the way. His Harley Sturgis is the preferred vehicle of transport. From a black box mounted on the rear he can pull an entire camera system, lenses from 16 to 500mm, and beam finished images to clients. Production magic makes a client’s reality just that much more real, even when it takes a whole crew, motor homes and much more than fits on his Harley to get the job done.
He’s not real proud of it but he is just tech geeky enough to get the job done, which is how it came to be that he was delivering hi rez images from the back of said bike 5 years ago. And don’t call him McGyver cause that’s cheesy, but he’s a whiz on set where it seems anything can be solved with duct tape or a hammer.
He’s traveled throughout much of the world, though he’ll say it’s not nearly enough, photographing for his clients and himself. An appetite for experiential pursuits led him to take his wife Patricia and their daughter Nadine to Argentina to live in ’06 & ’07, an experience that brought lasting changes to his vision, not to mention 30,000km of new terrain to explore.
